Privacy policy

Who we are

BuildStack Labs is the brand of BuildStack Technologies, a sole proprietorship based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. We make Purohit (purohit.app), FurFam (furfam.club), alaap, and small experiments at addresses ending in buildstack.club. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean BuildStack Technologies.

What this policy covers

This policy covers this website (buildstack.club), messages you send us, and payments you make for any of our apps.

Each app has its own privacy policy for the data the app itself needs to work:

• Purohit: purohit.app/privacy
• FurFam: furfam.club/privacy
• alaap: published with the app before it launches
• Experiments on buildstack.club: each one shows its own notice before it collects anything this policy does not already cover

Where an app's policy is more specific about that app, the app's policy applies.

This website

This website has no accounts, no forms, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising or tracking code.

Like every web host, our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services) records each request: the IP address, the browser type, the page asked for and the time. These records exist to deliver the site and keep it secure. We look at them only to fix a problem or deal with abuse, and we do not use them to identify or profile visitors.

When you write to us

If you email us, we keep your email address, your message and anything you attach, so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. Our email is provided by Google.

Payments

Payments on our websites and apps are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. Your card, UPI, bank and wallet details go to Razorpay, not to us, and we never see or store them. Razorpay's own privacy policy covers what you give them.

If you buy inside an iPhone or Android app through the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google process the payment instead, under their own policies.

We keep a record of each payment: what was bought, the price, the date, whether the payment went through, the references the payment company gives us, and the contact detail you gave at checkout, such as a mobile number. We use it to deliver what you bought, to help you if something goes wrong, to process refunds, to keep our accounts, and to meet our tax and legal obligations.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only:

• with the service providers we need to run things: Amazon Web Services (hosting), Razorpay (payments; Apple or Google for in-app purchases) and Google (email). They store data under their own security safeguards, in India or in other countries;
• when the law requires it, or a court or a government authority with the legal power to ask for it does;
• when it is needed to prevent fraud or to protect someone from harm.

How long we keep it

• Website request records: for the short period the host keeps them for security, then they are deleted automatically.
• Emails: as long as we need them to help you and for our records.
• Payment records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us:

• what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• to correct or update it;
• to erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it, as it does for payment records;
• to let someone you nominate act for you.

Write to us from the email address or mobile number the data is linked to, and say what you would like. We may ask you to confirm that it is you before we act.

Children

This website is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect children's data through it. Each app states its own age rules.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will say so clearly on this page before it applies.
